André Cirino, OFM: I am a friar minor of the Franciscan Province of the Immaculate Conception, NYC. I studied at Immaculate Conception College; and did graduate studies at West Virginia University, Woodstock Jesuit School of Theology, Franciscan studies at the Pontifical University of St. Anthony, Rome. My ministerial experience includes parishes, Franciscan formation, education, and publication. I have also worked at the Little Portion Retreat House for the poor in Bronx, and I lectured at the Franciscan International Study Centre, Canterbury, England. Since 1984 I have conducted pilgrimagesannually to Italy, Prague, England, Mallorca, France, Germany and the California Missions.
At the invitation of Fr. Sorgie, I began working at Immaculate Conception and Assumption of Our Lady Parish in the summer of 2016. In my fifty-four years of ministry, I have always enjoyed parish work, but only had the opportunity to do so twice for just four years. And the invitation to return to some parish work has reconnected me with the reality the Second Vatican Council beautifully called the People of God. Since I grew up in Brooklyn in an Italian national parish, Our Lady of Peace, I have been touched on occasion by one of your songs or traditions that have brought me back home to my roots.
