St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle;
be our defense against the wickedness
and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world
for the ruin of souls. Amen.
Almighty God, our Father,
you who have given us life
and intended us to have it forever,
grant us your blessings.
Enlighten our minds
to an awareness and
to a renewed conviction
that all human life is sacred
because it is created
in your image and likeness.
Help us to teach
by word and the example of our lives
that life occupies the first place,
that human life is precious
because it is the gift of God
whose love is infinite.
Give us the strength
to defend human life
against every influence or action
that threatens or weakens it,
as well as the strength
to make every life more human
in all its aspects.
Almighty Father,
give us courage
to proclaim the supreme dignity
of all human life and
to demand that society itself
give its protection.
We ask this in your name,
through the redemptive act of your Son
and in the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Heavenly Father,
we ask You to bless our family.
Open our hearts
to receive Your love.
May our home be
another Nazareth so that
our family may be a place
where Your peace and love abides.
Open our eyes
to recognize the gift
and beauty of life,
so that we may find joy
in Your presence among us.
Grant us pure hearts
seeking holiness,
generous hearts full of Your love, merciful hearts ready to forgive
and tender hearts full of kindness.
May our family be
a sanctuary of life and love,
a beacon of hope, drawing others
to your Son, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
Holy Family of Nazareth,
pray for us.
God of endless love,
ever caring, ever strong,
always present, always just:
You gave your only Son to save us
by the blood of His cross.
Gentle Jesus, shepherd of peace,
join to your own suffering the pain
of all who have been hurt
in body, mind, and spirit by those
who betrayed the trust placed in them.
Hear the cries
of our brothers and sisters
who have been gravely harmed,
and the cries of those who love them.
Soothe their restless hearts with hope,
steady their shaken spirits with faith.
Grant them justice for their cause,
enlightened by your truth.
Holy Spirit, comforter of hearts,
heal your people’s wounds
and transform brokenness
into wholeness.
Grant us the courage and wisdom,
humility and grace, to act with justice.
Breathe wisdom
into our prayers and labors.
Grant that all harmed by abuse
may find peace in justice.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord. AMEN.
O God, who looks down upon the lowly
and knows the heights from afar:
grant that your children may with pure heart
imitate the humility of the Blessed Virgin Mary;
she who was pleasing to you in her virginity
and in humility conceived our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son:
Who lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen.
